class of 2005.
farewell assembly at SAJC(malan road)
nostalgia.
lives are in the making here
hearts are in the waking here
mighty undertaking here
up and on!
up and on!
we are arming for a fight
pressing on with all our might
pluming wings for higher flight
up and on!
Chorus:
Up saints! truest fame
lies in high endeavour
play the game; keep the flame
burning brightly ever
fair before us lies the way
time for work and time for play
fill the measure while we may
up and on!
up and on!
foes in plenty we shall meet
hearts courageous scorn defeat
so we press with eager feet
up and on!
up and on!
ever onward to the fight
ever upward to the light
ever true to god and right
up and on!
the last time im wearing the sa uniform singing that school song in this sch campus right here at malan road.
the feeling's different from the usual monday morning assembly.nice one in fact.
farewell assembly today basically consisted of many speeches from teachers and guests as forms of encouragement and inspirations to us for the upcoming exams.
it was quite a solemn affair but the funny speeches by mr newby and mr leong injected some much needed humour among the students.
esp tt of mr casey leong.=p
SFC performance was heart-warming.
liked the songs they sang namely tt's wad friends are for and you'll never walk alone.
god is always there and i wont walk alone. *smiles*
staff performance was really cute and it was a great effort by the teachers.=)
they sang 'coming out of the dark'.
assembly then closes with the college hymn.
its really meaningful.
always enjoyed the singing of college hymn.*heart-warming*
had civics aft and got back results slips and all.
got presents from mr lee.some sheaffer pen tt got my name engraved on it.=p
cookies from mrs lee were nice too.
we then helped ourselves to the buffet at the cafe and took pics together.=)
went off to suntec aft sch and caught 'into the blue'.
hot and drool-worthy bods of those actors and actresses.
jessica alba is definitely hot! x)
anyhows its better than i thought.
great company and was a good class outing at last !
reminiscing abt the times spent in this campus tt is almost breaking apart.
i think about......
the malfunctioning toilet flushes that u have to run out of the cubicle once u press it.
the no-table audi tt make copying notes so difficult and cultivating bad posture over time.
the air-conditioned loke cheng kim hall where orientation saintestralis was held.
the container blocks where we had lessons in due to the lack of classrooms and it has creaking ceiling boards which could fall off anytime.
the track where morning assembly was held.
the canteen which we all so affectionately call the caf(e) which served rather good food considering the std of some sch canteens.
the student centre which was my major slacking place for 1st 3 months.
the many staircases to get to classes and lects cuz the sch was built atop a hill.
the gallery was the place we always had to assemble for pe and sports events.
the general office where we took green slips to get outta sch cuz CT wasnt around.
the plaza where dreadful uniform checks take place when we were late.
the 'tunnel' tt is filled with graffiti which APPARENTLY leads to labrador park(till now its unknown.haa)
the balcony where consultations were made.
the library which became my mugging place for prelims.
the reading room which will be so packed when exams draw near.
the lil nooks and crannies to chill out without getting caught.
and most importantly the airconditioned classrooms that were a privilege!
all these memories as i think abt my jc life right here on malan road campus.
memories that are etched in my mind forever.
im thankful for all those sweet memories and esp the friendships fostered.
2 years have zoomed past.
just as i settled into jc life, im leaving it.
everything moved really fast.
we have come to the end of it.
no more are the times where we will be trudging to classes and attending lectures together as a class.
nor will there be instances where we will sit in the cafe and contemplate whether to attend lects or not.
tutorials at b & c blocks have become a thing of the past.
major chit-chat sessions during breaks have been reduced to studying sessions.
the uniform itself will then lay in the back of our cupboards once the last paper of As are over.
all these has became a part of a memory bank to be stored as unforgettable.
so...
here's a word of THANKS to my clique in S13.
THANK YOU! for being a wonderful part of my life during this 2 yrs.
(shan, nat, ling, merjahn, shaun, lawrence, kenneth and rudy =) )
though there are just the few of us girls in a boys-dominated class.
we have gotten closer and i enjoyed the camaraderie we shared together as a clique.
the rest of the class have been part of the great experience as well. just not so close.=p
anyways, im also interested in waiting to see what the future beholds for all of us. what we will all grow up to be. =p
for now, its getting back to serious ol' studying for the exams tt are approaching in a matter of weeks.
let's perservere on! we can do it im sure.!
im crossing my fingers and praying that we will all get those results we have been dreaming of attaining.! =))
till then when the exams are over. we will be out there enjoying the life of free-ness.
'no one is here by chance'
college hymn-.
our father, by whose servants
our school was built of old
whose hand hath crowned thy children
with blessings manifold
for thy unfailing mercies
far strewn along our way
with all who passed before us
we praise thy name today
they reap not where they laboured
we reap what they hath sown
our harvest may be garnered
by ages yet unknown
the days of old hath dowered us
with gifts beyond all praise
our father make us faithful
to serve the coming days
before us and beside us
still holden by thy hand
a cloud of unseen witness
our elder comrades stand
one family unbroken
we join with one acclaim
one heart, one voice uplifting
to glorify thy name
