the royal ballet:swan lake took place at the esplanade last night.
it was great.!!
the poise and slender bodies those ballet dancers had...simply made me go wow=)
their elegance and agility were really amazing.
they were on pointe almost all the time and they looked like they were flying while doing splits in the air.=D
the stage was theirs the entire night for sure.
those 2 lead ballet dancers captivated me.
the chemistry they shared and the professionalism they had..
woOOhoO!. i really enjoy the performance with fel. =))
the storyline was rather touching and very much fairtale-like.
it kinda reminded me bout cinderella. hee.
the props used for the perfomance were really elaborate and it no wonder they are UK's top ballet company.
story's revolving round a guy named Siegfried having to find some girl during his bdae party as he is coming of age.
he then meets some beautiful lady at the lake named odette.a swan queen.
she was under a curse and acts as a swan by day and human by night.
the curse could only be broken if someone declares his love for odette.
and the love grows between the 2 of them.
and aft tt, at a feast held at prince siegfried's castle, one guest also presented his daughter to seigfried. she looked remarkingly like odette.
it was actually Von Ruthbart(the person who cursed odette)'s daughter, they were luring the prince to betray odette.
he fell for it.
after realising his mistake, he seeks forgiveness from odette, and got it.=)
but Von Ruthbart wants seigfried to fulfil his promise to marry his daughter Odile.
however, knowing how selfless love is, he rather die with Odette than marry Odile.
the ending was really SWEEEET.=)))

hui came over. supposedly to swim.
but it rained and i needed to go out for lunch early.
so in the end she went with me and my family to lunch instead of going for tuition. hahaz.
had lunch at sakura(tampines).
nice food. made me settle my craving for sakae a lil.=))
yep. then we went to TM to walk a lil.
went to MANGO.
hahaz. was rather crowded but its expected since its sales period.
managed to get 2 tops from there. yay!

3 more days and its finally the commencement of the exams i hv been preparing for the past month.

when we got there. we suddenly no mood. so in de end went walking along the streets of orchard instead.
haha. the crowd at lido wasnt as bad as i thought though.

esp the super wonderful and spirit-filled church service early in the morning. =)))
it really touched me greatly today and i teared. touched by what pastor glenn said to his beloved daddy.
this youth pastor of my church had led a messed up life till he met the lord.
by the way, when i mean messed up. it REALLY is.
but the gracious lord of ours had brought him back on the right tracks and now he is joyously serving HIM.
today's sermon was centred upon it being the year of the lord's favour!
let us children return to him and not backslide anymore.
leaving all burdens unto him and trusting him as we go thru life's journey.
really impacting and reaching out sermon.
saving the lives of the broken is definitely worth rejoicing =)
a short 20 min video entitled green grass was screened showing a glimpse of how screwed glenn's life was when he was younger.
its gonna be screened sometime soon i guess as its produced by the singapore prisons division or smth liddat.
the content was bout how wayward a teenager glenn was.
he peddled drugs, partied, left home for 2 yrs to join a band and perform gigs, broke up with his gf, failing grades in school and brokeness with his family.
however, his family were ever so supporting and his father was a man of few words but full of wisdom.
the story basically was to reach out to youngsters not to indulge in these activities so as not to end up in jail.wasting precious years of one's life.
for glenn.
aft serving his prison term, he was released and he met his childhood sweetheart again. the one he broke up with 10 yrs ago.
it was really sweet becos she is now his present wife.=)

in fact,the lord is the one he is reaalllyy grateful for.

celebrated grandma's bdae.

slept really lil the night before cuz was at my uncle's house.reaching home only round 2+ in the morning.
got there aft attending some teenage icon preview concert.
it was actually not baddd. i tot i will be wasting my time there but the contestants proved me wrong.
there were actually reallly good singers.
at uncle's house, had dinner den we did some art and craft.

friday was mugging day.
caught the same bus as audrey to je library.
met leo there and went to study.
had some argument with the freaaking irritating indian security guard there.

dropped by his home for him to get his TYS.

went to watch PCK the musical at the indoor.
was some closed-door event. cuz it was some special night for the saint andrew's autism centre thingie.
well. tt's where my aunt got the tix from her friend too. some donation drive held by the church to help these ppl..=)
i would say the musical has much to improve i guess.
it seemed really raw and more of a sitcom kinda thing.
sitting there watching it i felt like i was watching it in its rehearsal stage.
wouldnt be something i would pay tt much to watch la.
basically tt's the idea.
it was as usual entertaining and the song PCK sang was actually not bad.

had supper aft tt before heading home.
ytd. met ling at hf to study.
got home in time for tuition.
managed to clear quite a bit of doubts.
one more week and its the exams alr.
guess its gonna be really difficult.

of cos in between there were stoning sessions. haha.

well. was actually to see the cake selections.
but in the end went to eat.
so yup. were chatting and we had a CraZzyy idea.

we decided to go down to padang to see guys play match.

buttt. something really funny happened.
and we did the craziest thing man.
some couple were quarelling along the road.
saw it from the bus and since we couldnt go watch match anymore.
we were like. let's drop here and watch the couple quarrel.hahahah.
damn lame i noe. but interessttinngg.

so tt's wad we did.
by then they have splitted up into different directions.
and we were PIs for 2 hrs.
lol. we tailed the gurl first than the guy.

just got back from yet another camp.
habitat for humanity's under no roof camp 2005.
was rather boring. i personally found famine so much more interesting.

so well.
woke up superbly early though i slpt only at 1 the previous night.
got out of my house at 615 to catch the bus and take the mrt down to tg pagar to meet up.
met rudy and lawrence on the train.
we were early.
as usual.. merjahn was late.
and we had to wait for him to change to the designated tee.
so well. camp started with the weather not accommodating.
it was raining and was freaking humid when it stopped.
but anywayz. we continued to report and stuff.
facils were alexandra and nicholas.
we had 5 stations to cover and get our building materials from there.
lol. it was freaking tiring walking and finding the place.
we always took the long route and missing the place.
great exercise though.=S
did bo liao stuff at the stations.
and its really BO LIAO!

just practically squat there for half and hr blindfolded and just STONE!

aft all the stations.
our group went to slack at food court to enjoy aircon. haha. cheapo i noe.
but it was freeaking hot and we needed a drink.
also we didnt intend to head back to build the shelter.
intending just to sit on the cardboads and stuff and tell them we were under no roof.
so well. they cant do anything anyway.
we sat there, slacked and chatted =)
evrything ended with some speeches and eunice olsen was one of the guests.
she's ok looking only la. but well. she is very into volunteer work.
dinner-ed at bk with ling, lawrence and kesavan before heading home.
we couldnt wait to bathe.
all of us were supeerrr sticky and sweaty.

ever felt what its like not knowing what would happen?
especially to someone as dear to u as ur loved one.
well. tt's wad i have been feeling for the past 2 days.
grandma was admitted to the hospital on monday.
it was so worrisome as we just didnt know what the root of her illness was.
thinking it was some trivial affair we thought she could be discharged the following day.
it was physically draining for the 1st day actually.
grandpa me and uncle took turns to be by her side during the day.
seeing her crying out in pain at times but not knowing how to ease her pain made me feel helpless.
all we could count on were the nurses and doctor.
but the doctor must have been so busy tt she only calls on the patient once in so many hrs.
waiting and continue waiting was all we did.
oh well. after constant bugging of the nurses.they gave her some drink so she could ease her pain.
luckily. when i dropped by yesterday. she was much much better.
she was almost 70 percent recovered and was awaiting her scan to give the full clear ahead.
so well. the results are out and she's fine.
got discharged this morning.
im so glad she's ok already. been really praying for her speedy recovery.
thank god!
its in fact at times like this that i learnt to treasure the people around me more.
its as if i can lose them anytime.
life is that unpredictable.
i really appreciate all the people whom god has placed in my life.
family and friends. they mean the world to me actually.=D
i cant imagine loneliness without them in my life.
yeap. so i shall nv take things for granted and treasure the times i spent with all of them.

yay! im back.
well actually i was back last night.
came back and ate quite a bit of supper before heading the bed for my well-deserved sleepp.zZz
okaeyz. so im now fresh and awake to update about the details of camp.
back to the actual day of the start of camp.
it was sat 4th of june.
early in the morning, woke up and got change before mum fetched me to meet the guys at KAP mac.
had breakfast together before going to register at ngee ann at 11+
some interesting incident happened there too and we labelled a "macdonald girl."
haha.shall not elaborate here though.
so yeap.den we went to ngee ann's sports hall to register and stuff.
hanged around as usual.
we didnt want to go with our groups so early cuz all of them were in different groups too.
me and ling were super lucky. hee.
camp started at 1+ proper.
met our team mates of cambodia A14. had interesting ppl.
camp leader was estelle. -nice name yea-
so den it was some introduction speeches by the guest of honour and vips.
he officially clanged the gong at 2pm to start the 30-hours of no food.
blahz. lucky for the breakfast at macs. we were still feeling ok.
haha.
so yup. we were given an intro on how the games are like.
basically i felt it was rather slack and more of a raise awareness sort of thing.
each heading(poverty,hunger, hiv/aids) had 3 sections.
aware,share and experience.
aware was held at lecture hallls with info provided.share was like doing some sculpture of poster or smth of tt sort to share with other wad our views were. experience was going thru some games.
so well. at hunger's share station, our group made some sculpture. and it actually resembled the mask.haha.
at the experience station, i had to piggy-back ling to get water from the 'well'. it was meant to like help u understand how it feels to have a lil bro or sis on ur back and still needing to draw water for survival.
den at the poverty's share station, we drew a poster showing contrast. with a artist in our group, ren tian, he actually came our very a super nice poster showing it.=)
experience station was like having us needing to build makeshift shelters with cardboard and scrap materials.
last station being hiv/aids station.a lil activity held at aware station was funny.it showed how hiv can spread b/w ppl. and so campers were given placards. some abbreviations i tot were quite funny. NP -no protection C-condom MM- smth to do with abstinence till marriage SI-sexually inactive . there were more but the way it was done was rather hilarious. hee.=p
okaeyz. last activity of the day. hiv/aids experience station.
we were grouped with 2 other groups. the games goes like this.
there are 8 qns and each qns u have to choose from A to J. only one letter is right.
if answered incorrectly, u lose a leg but can call the support of another member to answer it. and it goes on if more members lose their legs.max if lose 2 legs and we have to carry them.
so well. how swae can we get man. we actually maximise evryone in our 3 groups at the 5 lane.
and we had 3 more qns to go. so in the end we had to carry ppl.
man. my legs were alr breaking by then. wad more for those who had to carry ppl on one leg.
so well. it was the experience station.
evrything ended at 11 with debrief and stuff.
we were all feeling sticky but the toilets were fully-occupied and evry one were like waiting for 2 places to bathe.
so me and ling went to meet up with the guys first.
sat down and played daidee. den we went to the 'amphi' there and they started talking bout ghost stories. damn. it was rather scaree. and summore bout wad merjahn, kesavan, waihong and dasan sorta 'experience' earlier on while they were walking at some place of ngee ann. near the lt s
so well. aft tt we all went to bathe which was alr round 2am.
after bathing we decided to go walk around the school.
tt's just wad we did.
walked around then upon nearing some canteen. me ling and merjahn went to sit there while the guys went on to explore wad was the scarry thing tt happened earlier with lawrence being so keen. haha.
ling didnt want to go so i accompanied her.
so well.we 3 chit chatted abt dreams and stuff while waiting. damn funny la talking bout them.
it was really interesting and hilarious actually. but well. no one noes where dreams come from yea.
they got back and nothing happened. in the end we realised it cuz merjahn went with the right group and he really scared their asses off man. haha. one good scarer he was. i bet if merjahn went as well. they sure come back not wanting to go again. hahaa..
so den got back to grandstand and we went to sleep.
was bout 3+ den.
didnt managed to reallie sleep though. only effectively slpt for 1/2 an hr.
finally woke up at 5 den dazed around.
got changed at 6.
den had worship at lt 24. evryone was not wide awake and by halfway thru the programme. half the ppl have their heads on the tables alr.
actually i think it was quite demoralising for the speaker.
so well. aft tt was newspaper collection at tampines estate.
ling and me had a good nap on the bus. seriously deep sleep.
interesting experiences we had while knocking on the doors of the ppl in the estate too.
so then we finished early . bought some drinks since all of us decided to hold on to the 30-hr fast.
we then headed back to ngee ann.
got back. hanged around as a group.
oh yeah. den we asked another talent in our group to show us magic tricks.!
he's really good i tell u. we were all appalled and amazed.
he tricked me like the day before and now other ppl.
but well. he only does his tricks once. acc to magician's code of conduct.
blahz. cant manage to decipher how he did it.
we tried videoing but it failed. he was rather worried when ling videoed with my phone though.
but he is good la. maybe cuz i cant do it tt's y.haha
yeap. so den. slacked till 7 for the famine concert.
nice concert.!!!!
had hip hop dances which were damn good and singing and stuff.
broke fast together at 8pm. end of the 30-hrs without food!!!
yay.! haha=p
went home with audrey aft tt. hee.
okaeyz. tt's about it. the camp's activies.
i really have learnt much from it and felt for the ppl there.
we singaporeans are reallllyy fortunate. and actually being materialistic at times makes me feel really guilty for them.
they are poor and thus not having enuff food. the extremes in income level b/w the ppl there really makes my heart ache for them.
also. aids sufferers are the worst victims of all. its not a choice. to them. it feels destined/fate. children are born and many die evry sec. around 4 die evry sec. tt's a lot.!
coming back from the camp, made me rich with these emotional feelings. not having food for 30-hrs compared to them is really nothing.they had to go without food for 30 days or more.. also. we had sugared drinks to ease hunger. they have nothing.!
from now. i shall learn to not take things and granted and treasure evry lil thing in my life. thinking abt the innocent and cute lil kids in cambodia, ethiopia and mongolia, i really am far moreee fortunatee than them in many ways too.
