the royal ballet:swan lake took place at the esplanade last night.
it was great.!!
the poise and slender bodies those ballet dancers had...simply made me go wow=)
their elegance and agility were really amazing.
they were on pointe almost all the time and they looked like they were flying while doing splits in the air.=D
the stage was theirs the entire night for sure.
those 2 lead ballet dancers captivated me.
the chemistry they shared and the professionalism they had..
woOOhoO!. i really enjoy the performance with fel. =))
the storyline was rather touching and very much fairtale-like.
it kinda reminded me bout cinderella. hee.
the props used for the perfomance were really elaborate and it no wonder they are UK's top ballet company.
story's revolving round a guy named Siegfried having to find some girl during his bdae party as he is coming of age.
he then meets some beautiful lady at the lake named odette.a swan queen.
she was under a curse and acts as a swan by day and human by night.
the curse could only be broken if someone declares his love for odette.
and the love grows between the 2 of them.
and aft tt, at a feast held at prince siegfried's castle, one guest also presented his daughter to seigfried. she looked remarkingly like odette.
it was actually Von Ruthbart(the person who cursed odette)'s daughter, they were luring the prince to betray odette.
he fell for it.
after realising his mistake, he seeks forgiveness from odette, and got it.=)
but Von Ruthbart wants seigfried to fulfil his promise to marry his daughter Odile.
however, knowing how selfless love is, he rather die with Odette than marry Odile.
the ending was really SWEEEET.=)))
yeahz. tt's the gist of the almost 3-hr long performance..
todayz.
hui came over. supposedly to swim.
but it rained and i needed to go out for lunch early.
so in the end she went with me and my family to lunch instead of going for tuition. hahaz.
had lunch at sakura(tampines).
nice food. made me settle my craving for sakae a lil.=))
yep. then we went to TM to walk a lil.
went to MANGO.
hahaz. was rather crowded but its expected since its sales period.
managed to get 2 tops from there. yay!
kaez. gonna get down to serious work.
exams in a day.=s
till later.!
